Well then, take a closer look at James Hardie Building Products. As our Safety Coordinator based out of our Cleburne, TX plant, you will report to the Safety Manager. You will oversee all of the EH&S activities of managers, supervisors, and line personnel. Your role as Safety Coordinator will be one of development, coaching, promotion, continual analysis and training.

Responsibilities:

Training of department managers, supervisors and crews;

Conducting new hire safety orientation for all new hires;

Conducting and leading the monthly safety training and Plant Manager safety meeting for all crews each week;

Developing weekly safety talks for supervisors to present to crew members;

Presenting safety summaries at the monthly Department Manager, Supervisor meetings;

Conducting initial and refresher training for all OSHA and core safety programs;

Performing safety audits; and

Reviewing Supervisor safety KPIs.



Qualifications:

Ability to understand, comply with and communicate state or federal Safety and Health OSHA regulations;

Knowledge and ability to update safety policies and procedures manuals;

Ability to perform audits of job sites, manufacturing, and plant operations;

Ability to assist with safety-related training as needed;

Ability to thoroughly investigate accidents and provide effective corrective action recommendations;

Ability to manage the flow of all required reports and documentation;

Demonstrated intermediate skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software);

Sound judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills;

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; and

Ability to deliver sustainable and superior results.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety / Environmental or Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene (preferred):

Manufacturing experience working as a Coordinator in a Co-op or Internship within Safety administration; and

Experience leading, mentoring and coaching in manufacturing organizations (preferred).
